I added four new baby pictures to the First Baby Pics album. They are at the end, so you won’t see them on the first page of the album.

Brianna turned three weeks old yesterday, and we still think she is the sweetest, smartest, most beautiful baby ever. Of course, we are a bit biased, but we also have to deal with the crying, lack of sleep, and other less than fun stuff that comes with a newborn. So, surely our opinion counts for something! We have taken lots of pictures and plan to post more soon. Jason is very particular about the quality of the pictures when he does the posts and he has not yet showed me how to post pictures (I am less particular). Brianna’s accomplishments to date: (1) lost her cord stump — has an inny belly button; (2) wrapped her daddy around her little pinky finger; (3) rolled onto her side; (4) figured out how to keep her pacifier in her mouth (most of the time); (5) doused her mommy in various fluids (seems to have no desire to do this to daddy); (6) can go from a deep sleep to wide awake in less than 2 seconds when not being held; (7) while not having the aim of a little boy, can still do a pretty good imitation of a human fountain when diaper is removed; (8) increased her squeaks repertoire — very cute — I have recorded many…
We are having a very good time learning all about her and she is having a wonderful time being spoiled by Mimi (my mother) and Tatie Kat (my aunt Kathy). We shall see how she adjusts to the reality of just mommy after Mimi leaves this week…

Well, we have been home for a couple of days now and we are slowly settling into a routine. Brianna is really a sweet tempered baby and seems to be o.k. with whatever situation we throw at her. We try to keep to a routine of eat-play-sleep and that seems to work pretty well. The one exception is at night. She eats and plays and goes to sleep so easily during the day, but at night it is a little different story. It takes her longer to fall asleep and she seems to fight it more. My friend said this will pass once we establish a routine. Hmmmm…but we have a routine — eat, play, sleep! I wonder what goes on in her little brain that makes the night time different? While this little pattern of hers is quite exhausting, I strangely don’t mind as much as I thought I would.
Today was Brianna’s first doctor’s appointment outside of the hospital. She has started gaining weight and everything looks great according to her doctor.
For those of you awaiting more pictures, we ask that you please be patient. We have taken lots of pictures, but we need a better forum to post them. Jason is working hard to put together the photo album on the website so we can more easily post pictures. I know waiting is especially hard on the grandparents, but try to appreciate that our world is a little topsy-turvy right now. We hope you understand that when we have to choose between posting pictures and sleeping, we will choose sleeping every time! 
Baby has a name: Brianna.
Little Brianna almost had a different name. Years ago, Jenn and I had settled on Colleen if we ever had a girl, with Brianna as the middle name. Or at least we thought we had settled on it. But, during her pregnancy, Jenn started liking Brianna as a first name. And after spending a couple of days with Baby, she seemed more like a Brianna to me.

Jenn gave birth to a beautiful baby girl at 12:17 AM on April 5, 2008. Baby weighed 7 pounds 6 ounces at birth. Mom and Baby are doing well. We are still deciding on the name, so she is still Baby for now.

Jenn is in labor. Apparently, it started last night around midnight, but Jenn just thought she was having some non-labor discomfort from the baby dropping and putting pressure on her pelvis. But it turns out that discomfort was labor. Anyway, things are progressing normally and the baby should be born tonight. We don’t have our phones on, but we have them with us and will call around once the baby comes.
