Baby has a name: Brianna.
Little Brianna almost had a different name. Years ago, Jenn and I had settled on Colleen if we ever had a girl, with Brianna as the middle name. Or at least we thought we had settled on it. But, during her pregnancy, Jenn started liking Brianna as a first name. And after spending a couple of days with Baby, she seemed more like a Brianna to me.
Here is another picture of Baby at the hospital. This was taken at the same time as the two pictures in the previous post.
Jenn gave birth to a beautiful baby girl at 12:17 AM on April 5, 2008. Baby weighed 7 pounds 6 ounces at birth. Mom and Baby are doing well. We are still deciding on the name, so she is still Baby for now.
Here are a couple of pictures. I’ll try to put a few more up tomorrow.
Jenn is in labor. Apparently, it started last night around midnight, but Jenn just thought she was having some non-labor discomfort from the baby dropping and putting pressure on her pelvis. But it turns out that discomfort was labor. Anyway, things are progressing normally and the baby should be born tonight. We don’t have our phones on, but we have them with us and will call around once the baby comes.
Here is a picture of Jenn from yesterday (March 22, 2008). She is between 37 and 38 weeks pregnant.
Here is a picture of Jenn from a few days ago (February 10, 2008). She is between 31 and 32 weeks pregnant.
As Jenn mentioned in her 28-week progress report, we painted the one wall of the baby room a pale green, but we didn’t like it with the beige of the other walls. At the time, we were going to change the color of the green wall to better complement the other walls, but we decided to paint all the other walls instead. That is, we decided to paint the whole room. So, the project expanded from what was initially planned (as these things often do), but we like the way it turned out.
Here’s a picture.
We temporarily put up a few dots so you can get a feel for how it will look. We are going to let the paint dry a few more weeks before putting the dots up “for real”.
The other walls are now a much lighter beige than before. The whole room now has a lighter, brighter, happier feel.
Here is a picture from before we painted, for comparison.
Here is the ultrasound of Baby from Jenn’s 28-week checkup.
This was taken on January 17, 2008. It’s taken me a few weeks to get around to putting it online. D’oh!
Okay, so we found our dots. If you haven’t seen the dots yet, check out the Dots Dots Dots post.
Now the question is whether or not we want to paint that wall.
The wall is currently beige. Again, we might not use as much pink as shown in these examples, but you get the idea.
We may paint it a pale green.
Or maybe a pale blue.
I think the pale colors make a better background than the beige, but the beige has the advantage of already being on the wall. Not painting is better than painting. So, we’ll see what happens.
